Rewrite to Improve

Why might a student complete a rewrite?

Earn up to half the missed points for a complete and successful rewrite

Want to work outside of class on concepts with a peer tutor, parent, or other person

Learn a concept not completely understood at time of test or quiz

Turn a misunderstanding into an understanding

Use one rewrite form for each question or collection of questions with the same type of error. Test/quiz must be attached to receive consideration.

  1. Complete explanation of what I did wrong on this (or these) problem(s):

  1. Detailed explanation of the correct solution. Be sure to explain your reasoning and what you NOW know about the underlying concepts.

  1. Correct solution to the problem(s), with all my work shown (including what your calculator “does” if using a calculator is allowed for that problem). Each problem should be numbered in the same way it was numbered on the test/quiz. All work should be in your very most easy-to-read writing. Please color-code your test with this form so your original work is easy to spot.

For #3 show your work on the back of this form or on a separate piece of paper.
